United States

Fred Jacobs is President and Founder of Jacobs Media. The company celebrates its 33nd anniversary this fall, providing research and consulting services to media outlets throughout the world.

Jacobs Media’s Techsurveys have been widely quoted inside radio – and out – and its two groundbreaking ethnographic studies – “The Bedroom Project” and “Goin’ Mobile” – have helped change the radio industry’s thinking about digital media.

Fred has become a sought-after consultant in the radio + “connected car” space, speaking to industry groups around the world. For the past three years, Jacobs Media has partnered with Radio Ink to produce DASH, the first-ever radio and automotive “connected car” conference held in Detroit, Michigan.

Fred’s mobile app company, jacapps (JAKE-apps), has been at the forefront of connecting radio with the mobile revolution. In business 100 days after Apple opened its App Store in 2008, jacapps has developed 1,000 apps that have generated more than 24 million downloads. In 2013, Jacapps entered into a partnership with the Ford Motor Company to adapt apps for compatibility in the SYNC AppLink system.
