Gwendoline Debono started her career in radio as an intern at RTL Radio in France. After completion, she traveled to Colombia to work in local radio, but the day after she arrived in the country, Ingrid Betancourt, the kidnapped Columbian politician was released after being held hostage for 7 years by FARC guerrillas, and Gwendoline immediately put her newly learned skills into practise and covered the story for RTL.
