Daniel Cohn-Bendit is a Franco-German political and media figure. Member of the European Parliament for 20 years, Cohn-Bendit is now retired from politics but very active in the media and social scene. He presents the daily section 'Humeur du jour' (The mood of the day) on French radio ‘Europe 1'.

An icon of the 1968 May-Revolution in Paris, as a student leader, he was known as 'Dany le Rouge'.  Expelled from France by the French government, he became involved in social justice activism in Frankfurt, as a member of the Frankfurt Sponti-scene. The central organ of this scene was the alternative magazine 'Pflasterstrand', where he worked as responsible editor and journalist.

In 1989, already member of the Green Party, he was named honorary Frankfurt councillor in charge of multicultural affairs. In 1999 he was elected Member of the European Parliament and later co-president of the group Greens/ALE.

Host of the show 'Literaturclub' for the Swiss TV station DRS between 1993-2004, he has also participated in several films and books.
